I have spent years developing my personal style, finding a niche, and learning how to properly
brand myself. An Alumni of the International Academy of Design (Chicago Campus) I studied Fashion Merchandise Management. Working at big box retailers and all of my experiences has helped develop my personal panache and built my keen eye for fashion styling/curating runway shows. Being in retail for over15 yrs I've learned the importance of staple pieces and how to implement trendy pieces into your wardrobe, I also fell in love with bold colors, prints, shoes, jewelry, and lets not forget the almighty handbag!
After graduating in 2009 I began working at bebe as a personal shopper and started gaining clients who would come to me for personal styling! Shortly after, I was styling models and producing my own fashion shows here in Chicago. In 2010, I produced my first fashion show and it was a huge success, this was one of the best feelings in the world! I always wanted to become an entrepreneur and focus on something that I love and would give me chills everyday. lets just say, I have finally found my "Chill" factor!
Besides being a wife and mom of two handsome boy's Baron 14 yrs old & Jakai 2 yrs old. Being a mom is the best thing that has happened in my life.This is when I had my Zsa Zsa Zsu moment! Fashion Styling & Fashion show production are my passions. I enjoy putting together shows and building a team to help, picking models, pulling looks for the models, creating a style board, everything about it I love. the adrenaline of everyone backstage to the anxiousness of the attendees to see my vision come to life. All of it makes my heart beat!
In 2012, I created Fashion Wars Chicago which was a new kind of fashion show putting wardrobe stylist against each other to see who had the better eye for fashion. In 2013 I produced a show Fashion Wars presents "My Mini Me" a production putting the spotlight on kids fashion! This has become near to my heart, because it's more than a production. I'm nurturing and helping to build their self esteem through fashion! Children are like blank muses or canvases that you can turn into something magical!
I have worked among some of the top notables in Chicago's fashion industry. I have been featured on ABC 7 News, Fox News, Michigan Ave. Magazine, Racked, WWD, TCW, and Time Magazine. I'm a busy mom with a savvy business sense, who has gone from working in retail dreaming of fashion to becoming a wardrobe stylist, curating runway shows, and entrepreneurship in a short time. Now, that I'm a stay at home mom I use this blog to give personal style from Mommy and Son's~Style File.
